Evidence-led records work

A reviewable path from incomplete records to a clearer handoff

BasisRestore organizes crypto record evidence for review. The method documents the record trail and what remains unknown; it does not decide tax treatment.

Method

  1. Source preservation

Keep each received source identifiable so a reviewer can trace the working record back to its evidence.

  2. Deterministic transforms

Apply repeatable normalization and matching steps instead of opaque or discretionary record changes.

  3. Visible assumptions

Label assumptions and their supporting evidence so they can be reviewed, challenged, or replaced.

  4. Human review

Use a human-reviewed workflow for scope, evidence gaps, and the final handoff.

  5. Unresolved evidence

Keep missing, conflicting, or inaccessible evidence open rather than treating it as resolved.

  6. Versioned handoff

Provide a dated, versioned handoff so the receiving adviser can understand what was reviewed and what remains open.

Scope boundary

BasisRestore reconstructs and documents records. Tax, legal, accounting, investment, and filing decisions remain with the visitor and their chosen adviser. We do not promise a specific outcome, evidence recovery, authority acceptance, or completeness.
